‘Tampering’
In poetry, I enjoy the
power of making rules-
which I can break. Each
poem attempts to make
‘all connect’, yet knows
this to be impossible. I
confess- I use the same
belief system to negotiate
the world. I’m in the habit of
telling ‘officials’- dreams, actual
or invented. Revising your dreams
isn’t ‘tampering’, but a means of
stumbling upon important truths.
Choosing to tell a therapist-
someone else’s dreams, is not
unlike so many other choices we
make in these seductive, chaotic lives.
